July 23, 2017 (1 Hour)
Cut 1" and 1 1/8" oversleeves for main landing gear and cabanes. Cut additional jigs and jig-spacers for critical dimension areas (wing spar carry-through's).












July 22 2017 (2 hours)
Assembled and riveted upper and lower longerons for both left and right fuselage sides. Jigged upper longeron on drawing. Laid upper and lower longerons in jigs for placement.




July 21 2017 (1 hour)
Finished fuselage layout (drawing). Set jigs for lower fuselage longeron.




July 2 2017 (3 hours)
Fuselage laid out and drawn to scale per plans. Initial tubing lay-out.




June 27, 2017 (2 Hours)
2nd table built and attached to the first. Total table 4'x16' for fuselage build.

June 25, 2017 (2 Hours) 
Installed rudder control horn, fabricated and installed rudder control horn gussets. Rudder completed.



 Filed down edges, drilled holes and then riveted control horn onto spar.









Completed Rudder now hanging from the Garage Rafter. 


June 20, 2017 (1 Hour)
Formed upper and center rudder ribs on box and pan brake. Installed and riveted upper and center rudder ribs.






June 19. 2017 (2 Hours)
Attached hinges, bow to spar. Laid out and drilled upper and center flat ribs ready for bending.


Drilled hole and then riveted.




June 18, 2017 (1.5 Hours)
Coped lower rib.  Pressed wood dowel into lower rib.  Drilled 1/2 in. hole in spar to accept lower rib and pilot hole for wood screw (lower bow and lower rib).


Dowel rod pressed into lower rib (4.5 in. deep) before it's
inserted into the main rudder spar.  This will provide additional support
for the control horn once it's attached.

Coped lower rib.  Inserted dowel rod to support
rib into spare. 

June 17, 2017 (1.5 Hours)
Cut holes in spar to attach bow. 

Filing down the 1/2 hole so that bow fits
into spar. (see image below)


Bow is now attached to the spar.




June 13, 2017 (2 Hours)
Cut out 24", 18" diameter plywood circles and begin rudder bend. 



The bending took some time to complete. 
It was critical to go back to the grid often to measure
the bend to the outlined bow on the grid. 













June 12, 2017 (3.5 Hours)
Built 4'x8' table and laid our rudder grid
